    Platform DevOps Product Manager

    TraceLink is seeking a full-time Technical Product Manager to drive our Release, Testing, and Operation processes forward in an integrated effort as we move our platform to a micro-services based architecture. You will bring your Software Release Engineering and DevOps experience to help internal and external customers by specifying and prioritizing the development work done across the Release Engineering, Quality Engineering, and Operation teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical foundation and experience building products that rely on infrastructure providers such as AWS and be familiar with concepts such as containers, micro-services, and native cloud services as well as familiarity with the tools used by release engineering and operation teams for build and deployment activities.     Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the voice of the internal customers (Release Engineering, Quality Engineering, Development, Operations, and Services) as well as external customers and partners.
    • Create and document product release and deployment automation requirements and use cases for roadmap releases, patches, and hot fixes
    • Define release and deployment tool automation required to provide a repeatable and reliable deployment model
    • Identify and define processes, tools, and automation to help maintain reliable testing and production environments
    • Work with the Development, Quality, and Operations teams to define third party and in-house infrastructure upgrades and work to schedule these upgrades into the product roadmap
    • Write customer facing release note documentation that inform customers when infrastructure changes are done and the areas of the product are impacted by those changes
    • Author and prioritize user stories (including test acceptance criteria) for work done by the Release Engineering, Development, Quality Engineering, and Operations teams
    • Participate in scheduling, coordinating, and planning release activities
    • Work with the various teams to resolve issues throughout the development lifecycle
    • Participate in bug triage and prioritization
    • Review and accept user stories upon completion of the development and testing of those stories
    • Manage/coordinate the infrastructure release process
    • Provide regular status updates on infrastructure release efforts
    • Minimal if any travel required

    Skills and Requirements:

    • Technical degree (engineering and/or computer science)
    • 4+ years of experience as a business analyst, technical product manager or team lead for DevOps
    • Software company experience where SaaS and/or cloud deployment environments are used
    • Experience with software build and release best practices, version control, continuous integration
    • Strong communication skills
    • Experience delivering cloud solutions to regulated industries such a Pharmaceutical or Medical Devices
    • Knowledge of AWS Services beyond just EC2 and S3

     

    Desirable areas:

    • Experience working with AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
    • Implementation or requirements definition experience with enterprise software
    • Knowledge of build and deployment software tools and scripting languages (Ant, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Unix, Bash, Ruby, Python, Git)
