The Technical Consultant is a key resource on the project implementation team and is responsible for executing technical deliverables for client and partner integrations for TraceLink Life Edge solutions.  This role requires a combination of technical, consultative and interpersonal skills to be successful.


Specific responsibilities include: 

  • Install and configure client environments using TraceLink best practices.
  • Design and document business processes to identify appropriate TraceLink configuration, integration points and event triggers.
  • Develop and document technical design documents where required.
  • Develop and document Installation Qualification (IQ) documentation where required.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on TraceLink’s data interfaces.
  • Design, develop, edit and test client interfaces in various formats (CSV, XML, IDOC, EDI etc.).
  • Support user testing activities such as troubleshooting, reading error messages and ensuring the expected results are delivered.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on how global government regulations impact TraceLink configurations.
  • Conduct and advise clients on business review cases.
  • Log bugs and product enhancements into the TraceLink tracking systems.
  • Provide deliverable status updates to the Implementation Project Manager in a timely, consistent and professional manner.
  • Follow TraceLink’s rigorous delivery implementation methodology.
  • Support multiple concurrent client implementation projects.
  • Contribute to Professional Services best practices.


Skills and Requirements:


  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Previous experience working with external clients in a consulting role.
  • Prior Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software project implementation experience.
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, or similar technical degree, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to read, parse and manipulate various technical formats such as XML, EDI and CSV.
  • Working knowledge of B2B technologies such as AS2, SFTP and Web Services.
  • Highly self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, yet also work independently on complex problems.
  • 3-5 years of experience in client-facing roles, preferably within technology organizations.
  • A demonstrated understanding of when and how to be flexible, and when and how to be firm.
  • Working knowledge of MS Project, Visio and MS Office products.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with extremely high standards for documentation.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (25% - 50% travel requirement).


  • Knowledge of supply chain business processes including distribution, logistics, warehousing and serialization.
  • Knowledge of serialization and track and trace practices.
  • Working knowledge of technologies used in the TraceLink Edge architecture (Apache, Linux, Windows OS, Java, C++, MySQL).
  • Related ERP/WMS integration experience (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Life Sciences experience.
